MINIMALISM

I embraced Minimalism after being introduced to the work of @theminimalists years ago. I wanted to LET GO of my attachment to things because I realized I couldn’t take a U-Haul with me when I died.

No, I didn’t turn my home into a stark, cold space, but I purged about 80% of unnecessary things. These items no longer contributed to the life I wanted to live.

I desired more FREEDOM to move around and less time spent cleaning. I wanted my home to feel CALM and PEACEFUL.

It’s been gradual, but I feel FREE from the hold my possessions had on me. Some people think I don’t value anything and am indifferent to keepsakes, but I believe these items hold us back and stuck to the past.

I want to continue creating space for NEW EXPERIENCES rather than more possessions. I also want more time with people in my home to enjoy a calm, inviting space free from clutter.

I encourage you to consider how your belongings might prevent you from living a calmer, more peaceful life. Is it time for some decluttering in your life?

CLUTTER

Clutter can compromise the ability to live freely and comes in many forms:

Clutter compromises your ability to live as meaningfully as YOU define it and comes in many forms:

CONSUMER clutter -The most basic but material things hold us back. It becomes a mess when we look to things to solidify our status and worth.

SOCIAL MEDIA clutter- It's important to be mindful of who we choose to follow; some accounts can negatively impact our mental health.

FINANCIAL clutter- Negative beliefs, such as scarcity, hinder the flow of money from coming in.

RELATIONSHIP clutter: Holding onto relationships that no longer support us or are unhealthy can hinder our personal growth.

CALENDAR clutter- Too many commitments in our schedule are waiting to drain our energy. We are not superhuman, and we can’t do everything.

What type of clutter is negatively impacting you at the moment? How can you do a little housekeeping and clean it up? Even if it appears organized, it's a mess under there.
